Instagram enabled the ability to put music on your stories officially a few years ago, and it was an instant smash. The option is found in the Sticker tray and allows you to choose a piece of music to play during the adventure. Some tracks, however, are not available through this approach, and you may prefer not to use the Instagram Sticker at all. There are simple fixes How to add music to the Instagram story without stickers.

Add Music to Instagram Stories without Sticker

Method 1: Add Music to Instagram Story

Usually, Stories are made on the spur of the moment, with no time to precisely photograph and edit them, especially when they’re just for fun. If you don’t want the Instagram Music sticker to block your Story, you can make it invisible by hiding it.

To begin, open the Instagram app and create a story. It could be a photograph or a video. You’ll see the preview screen after you’ve shot it or chosen one from the gallery.

On this screen, you can finalize the story’s appearance and feel. You can use hashtags, alter descriptions, use filters, and paste stickers on your photos. To bring up the Stickers tray, press the Stickers button on the top.

The Music sticker will appear if you search for music in the search field. When you tap it, you’ll be given the choice to choose music.

After you’ve chosen a song, you’ll be given the choice to cut off the part of the story that you desire. You have the option of using dynamic lyrics or using a static sticker. You may fully hide the lyrics, even if they look good, and occasionally complement the tale. Tap Done after selecting the regular sticker as shown in the image below.

Pinch to shrink the sticker’s size, then drag it to the top of the screen until it disappears. The song continues to play, as you can see, but the sticker is completely hidden. Happy posting!

Method 2: Add Music to Instagram Story

The method stated above is straightforward and quick to use, however it fails when you can’t find the music you want on Instagram. It happens because Instagram needs to license the music, and if they can’t come to an agreement, they won’t be able to display them in the app. Using a simple video editor, we can quickly add the song to our story.

We have covered, video editors on practically every platform including Android, iPhone, Chromebook, and Windows. You are free to use any video editor you want. I’ll be using VN Editor on the iPhone for the purposes of this essay.

Make a recording of the Instagram story you want to share. If you’re using the Instagram app, tap the download option to save your stories to the Photos app.

After that, you’ll need the music file that we’ll use to overlay the video. VN Editor may download music from iTunes, record a clip, use any video on your phone, or even acquire music through the Files app. We can begin overlaying the music over the video once you receive it.

Create a new project in the VN Editor app. Next, select the video you want to watch. On the timeline, tap the Add Music button.
